Post subject:  Very strong on throttle understeer

Hi everyone, I'm Marco.
I have an xray T3 2012, and it's my first electric touring car, after many years of nitro models.
This little thing is making me crazy, because it understeers so much, on power.
I started with the basic suggested setup from xray, but it doesn't work. I made some little change, but I can't get rid of the problem, the front of the car seems to not hear any change. Rear is solid.
I run this setup:
default downstop (6 front, 5 rear; tried also 7 and 8 front), 4° caster, 4.8mm front height, 5mm rear height, 400 shock oil, shocks more vertical as possible, default roll center position rear and front, 3000 diff oil (tried also 10000, rear pretty solid but the car understeers  ), wheelbase shorter as possible, front width 186mm, rear 188, spring not original but as close as possible, stock anti roll bar, and everything else is like the setup suggests. I run LRP G32 and the body is a protoform P37R.
Someone say me that this body have few downforce and is for carpet. I run in a very large and fast truck with medium-high grip. The understeer is very strong, I have to cut power to come out from fast turns, I'm more the 1 second far from my personal best, and other EP tourings running in this track are way faster.
I really don't know why, I have 10 years of experience in this world and I never seen a problem like this. The car is in good conditions, nothing wrong from what I can see.
So please, give me some input, should be really appreciated.

I like a spool up front 5000 in the rear diff. Lengthen the wheelbase, atleast move the rear arms back and 2Deg rear toe.
Works for me, just some ideas. There are also plenty of good setups available under the search tab.

The wheelbase is shorter than possible, and the rear toe in doesn't change the situation. I tried with 2° with no visible result.
I think the setup is only a very little part of the problem, but I don't understand where is the major. Maybe the body?
I only know that the front of the car doesn't "hear" any setup change.

Hi
LRP G32 is a tarmac not a carpet tire.
Try pf1487-11 Mazda 6 Speed lightweight Body.

Hi guys. Now I am usino a protoform ltcr. I probably found the problem. The rear of the model is too soft. I have to running 20-25 lb springs to get enough steering according to tyre compound. The car still keeps a solid rear with good grip, but I can't explane why this model needs a so hard rear. Any idea?

Hello Marco,

I think your problem is completly in the track-width. Normally use the same track-width in the front and the rear, even more wide in the front. The opossite is complete slow car with a "super" understeed. I hope this help.
