Post subject:  Corner weight vs droop question

Hi everyone,

After de-tweaking the car and making sure downstops, shock lengths, spring preload are the same left and right, I put the car on scales. The heaviest corners are the front left where the servo is and the rear right opposite of the motor. The weight distribution front to rear and left to right are almost perfect 50:50 but the diagonals are around 47:53.

If I adjust the spring preload in order to make the diagonals have the same weight it looks like this affects the upward travel/droop of the suspension, making each corner having different droop.

Unless I am doing something very wrong... It looks like it is impossible to have 50:50 weight distribution at the diagonals and the same droop left to right at the same time.

So the questions are:
1) Am I doing something wrong?
2) What do you people believe is more important? Having 50:50 weight distribution at the diagonals or the same droop left to right? :?

Personally I don't get hung up on weight distribution too much, but when I do check it I only balance the car for left/right distribution of weight. 47:53 sounds like it's pretty far out of whack.

One thing though - you need to remove or lock out the shocks to accurately see what the weight distribution is as the shocks could (and most likely) be out still, even after checking everything.

Checked it with the shocks removed and see where you are at... you'll probably find it's quite different.
