Post subject: | Stock Setup Questions |
Hello, Im Drive the Basic Setup from Jan. Here is the Setup. xform/index.php?act=view&ID=124&setup=t4_2015 Is a very good Setup and im think the car is easy and nice to drive. Only i have change two things. Rollcenter front i have change the inner shims on bulkhead from 2mm to 1mm and i have remove the four screws from top deck for more flex. Is already easy to drive. But i think the car is not enough fast i can change what i want but the lap time is the self. I think the car is "sluggish" its not so agile and i think its not "roll" nice. What i can change to make the car not so "sluggish" and to make faster ? Thx for Help and Tips ! Greets Patrick |

What effect did removing 1mm of front shims give? What effect did removing the 4 screws give? Are you suffering from under steer? Did you try softer diff oil and softer rear springs as Jan commented? |

You could try adding the layshaft screw back in, and possibly the steering plate and post to make the car stay flatter and feel more 'reactive' |

Have you tried the kit setup, just as a reference point? It worked very well for us. The setup you link to differs not significantly from the general "trend" in other team driver setups. There are however some differences: Many run downstop 4.6/5.6, not the 4.8/5.8 in the setup sheet. Shims under shocks; most tends to have more shims. e.g. 4/1 front, 2/2 rear. Many runs no shock rebound, you have 20/50 rebound in Jan's setup. Rear diff oil is 6000 in Jan's setup, many run with thinner oils (e.g. 2000-5000). You could try to adjust these settings to see if that works better for you. Or try Mike Gosvig's latest stock carpet ETS setup, which is a setup that differs a little from Jan's setup: xform/index.php?act=view&ID=191&setup=t4_2015 |
