I am building new T4 kit. The ball studs are not so smooth, there are grooves/ripples from manufacturer machining. I polish a little bit and it's smoother but grooves still there. If I polish away the grooves so it's smooth and shiny, the ball will be too small and have slop in ball cups. Anyone else notice this?

Yes it is done. I have done it with my both my 2014 and 2015 cars. Last winter I saw Paul Lemieux building a car and he was polishing the ball studs. This was going to be his car for Snowbirds. He was using his super green slime polish.

do you says the 4,9 balls?? i did it with the 5.8 ball thay x12 uses for side links, that are the same that the t4 uses in the shocks, and yes they aren soo smooth, i use 600 sand paper and a drill and i do un a minute and i don,t think that i reduce the diameter, i have ball of these in cars that have 3 or 4 years of use and without any wear on it..
