Hi Guys,

I have a Xray T3 12 and T4 and am having the same problem with both with drive train.

I find that it is very tight and does not spin very freely when I compare it to another car from a different manufacturer.. and I think it is slowing me down.

The belts are fairly loose, bearings are all new and clean, also the gears have been cleaned out.

What else am I missing?

Would tightening the wheels to much on the hub cause issues?

Anything you can suggest would be great.

I run 17.5 and 21.5 stock classes

Thanks,

Hi,

Things i would check.

all bearings, belts which it looks like you have. Its worth checking that you dont have any damaged hubs, when wheel tightens the bearing could be getting squashed. Although xray products are the strongest i have used things can break from time to time.

Also some wheel run pretty close to outer camber links, depending on how many shims you use under outer link could cause the wheel to touch slightly.

Check drive train individually when building car, check each dif spins freely on its own along with layshaft, this way you will find whats causing the problem.

Hope this helps.
Oj

A problem I had with the T3 12 was tiny stones embedded in the spool teeth that would tighten the belt every rotation, checked after every run after that.
also 1 of the eccentric bushings got trapped whilst tightening the upper clamps pinching the plastic slightly, thought I had reshaped it properly but eventually that bearing seized and melted the eccentric

Thanks for all the info guys.

I found that I had too many shims under the hubs, build up of stuff on the gears under the belts.

Seems much better.

thanks again

If you're not already using them, the white belts make the car a lot freer in the drive train.
