I ran the genuine Xray shafts last year. Good quality as you'd expect, and very little wear. After about 4 months I snapped a dogbone. Shortly afterwards a teammate snapped one in the same place (similar age parts). Which to be honest isn't bad going running 13.5 boosted as thats a fair bit of power. But this year I went for the Roche DCJs instead. I wanted to find something stronger, and preferred the c-clip design to grub screws. So far the quality is as good as Xray parts. Zero wear or issues. Can't comment on reliability just yet as they're only 2 months old, but looking good. |

just to add to this,i picked up a set of spec r shafts and although i was initially put off the brand i found them well made with no slop, ran them for one meeting so far so will update if there are issues with these,so far so good,i did have a lot of slop in the bearings so i have shimed all the slop out,i used small 0.1/0.2 and 0.3 shims that i had lying around,so with 1.8mm of shims between the bearings and 0.3 mm shim between the bearing and pin, once all tight i have no binding and the smallest amount of slop,it could be measured as 2 deg of slop before, now id say i have less than 0.5 deg so hopefuly this will translate into faster lap times,im hoping the front will now feel more planted |

Hi Just want to add my input on the ECS questions. I have just build a second hand T4 2014 , but with brand new xray front ECS. Have not ran 20 akku's when the inside just snapped under braking on asphalt. Have had no big crash , not hit anything. After xray changed to the 2 mm pins , the dogbone part of the ECS have been way to fragile. Everyone is looking at other brands for ECS , they last longer and for half the price. This is a mayor part for Alex, mario and Martin to design a new ECS. The 1,5pin broke at the flat part , mayby to use a clip as many other do and then go back to 1,5 or 1,8 |
