I'm trying to gain more front end mechanical grip on tarmac so that I can reduce the steering lock on my handset. I'm nearly at full lock on most of the corners and scrubbing the front tyres quite badly. I run 17.5 blinky and are mostly looking for off power steering.

Here is my setup sheet, any ideas would be appreciated.

Your setup looks almost identical to what I ran at the Clubmans (apart from a lot less rear toe since you're in 17.5). I don't think there's a lot left to try...

Some toe-out on the front will help it to turn in.

Going to the mid position on the front camber links (i.e. longer front link) will give more mid-corner steering, at the cost of a bit of stability on the power, which you can probably live with in 17.5.

Likewise for split front blocks or a solid rear block.

I see you've got kick-up on the front, which isn't something I've ever tried. Did this increase steering? Generally any angle on the pins should reduce grip through the corner. Plus the increase in castor angle will have reduced turn-in. So maybe try going back to horizontal.

And let me know how you get on and what works, it will help me out next year :)

remove kick up
swop springs front to rear
remove ackerman shim
add front toe out if you still need more steering
i was unlucky at the clubmans ,i missed the first quali run so struggled from then with the heat, but saturday afternoon i was slightly faster than phil and he managed 8th,so i was quite gutted that my first run ended with a stripped belt, ahh what could have been

I'm looking mainly for off power steering on entry.

+ I ran the kickup as it seemed to give me more steering everywhere. Its supposed to promote more weight transfer to the front off power and then less to the rear on exit, is this right?

+ I did find the 2.5-2.8 progressive springs on the front good although was told these wear the tyres more. I may try the split blocks on the front again although I found they took the initial bite out the steering.

+ Would a gear diff in the front increase front end grip, I know it gains a lot on carpet?

+ Would a 1.2 rear roll bar increase weight transfer to the front off power?

Swap springs around front to back and laying the rear shock down would give more turn in off power.

Nice name on the setup sheet by the way 8)

Thanks!!!

Would 1mm bump steer give better turn in steering than 2-3mm?

Front shock position lower

Lower front ride height

Harder rear gear differential

Consider progressive springs up front
