Hi,
I am using the kit springs and 50wt oil for my local track, but I feel that the springs are likely to be too soft.

I don't really understand the spring rates though.

I think the linear springs will be better suited to high bite carpet tracks? (I've never used progressive springs before).

They don't mention an lb rating to try and compare them to anything else.

The kit comes with 2.3 - 2.6 and 2.7 springs. I am guessing I need 2.9 springs for a harder spring on the front, use the existing 2.7 on the rear, and go from there, yes?

Ideally, I want to try loosing a bit of steering and I think the springs are part of the reason.

I use 500,000 in the front diff, 3k rear and that helped a lot, but I still have to find more.

Everything else is at kit settings, (droop, pistons, camber link mounts etc) except that I don't use a rear roll bar.

0 degree front toe.

I am using 42 shore front tyres, 40 rear (additive on the front inner half, full rear).

Any suggestions to my thoughts please?

try 2.7's allround,if its not to your liking then try the 2.5 on the rear,if this is for carpet take a look at the set up sheets at the top of the page

Try harder front foams softer rears, harder front spring will give more steering.

What is your full setup and what surface

Thank you for the suggestions, I race on foams so it's difficult finding any setup sheets on the link that can be of help.

42/40 Shore is quite hard already (and what others use at my local club) So I don't think the tyres are an issue and they are only about 4 or 5 meetings old.

From my own experiences, softer foams usually generate grip roll.

Maybe I need to try a simpler approach and use less EPA.

Other people use wider tyres on the rear, maybe I need to copy this approach too?

I can do a setup sheet if it helps but most of my setup is stock apart from the above differences in my first post.

For anyone racing with foams on high traction, I found 2.9 front, 2.3 rear to help :)

Although the results are improving, I still need to work on the setup more.

If you want some other springs that will fit, Reflex Racing make some good springs that go harder than you are currently using.

Look at their T4 option parts.

Have you also tried widening your rear track width at the pivot blocks?

Thank you for the info on springs and track width :) I am currently running kit settings here so is something to consider!

I also wanted to try 30mm rear foams as I know a few people who like this setup, but I think I will need wider hexes to accommodate these.

I am running the T4 2013 on a low grip parking lot club track. I am using 2.7 front springs and 2.3 rear springs. All things being equal, what is achieved by running the 2.3-2.6 progressive rear springs vs. the 2.5 rear springs?

Thanks for the info on the 2.3-2.6 Progressive vs. the 2.5 springs. What about the 2.5 rears vs. the 2.3 rears?
