I am looking at running the diff upfront.what advantage will this bring to my racing in my T3-11. |

Easier to drive for most conditions, a less responsive feel. Reduced traction roll issues. More turn-in but less on-power steering. |

I think Alex is referring to the use of a gear diff. The two common oils are 1million and 2.5 million |

I don't of anyone who even bothers with ball diffs at all. But You'd need to run it very stiff to recreate the thick oils |

I reckon you'll snap the screw before you can get it tight enough to give enough drive with todays torquey motors and grippy tyres. Ball diffs can be useful in the rear in very low grip (although more hassle than they're worth with all the cleaning and rebuilding), but thats about the limit of their use. |

May not suit your situation but gear diffs are the way to go. I run spool in 1st choice car (t4 14 ) and gear diff in second two (T3 12 and T2009) have found outdoor it helped with turn in but on carpet was wasting my time, was way faster with spool in all 3 |
