Jilles, How is it that the spool works better on medium and low grip tracks? I was always told to run looser diffs on these surfaces |

Has anyone got any hints on how to get back some of the steering lost when a spool is installed? I have tried one - on carpet with foams and reverted back to a diff. I just could not get back the steering that was lost. |

Hi xrayracr, With the spool you will hold rear traction off power. This means that on medium or low grip tracks you will not loose the rear as much as with a spool. A diff will also work fine on medium or low grip. This is my experience indoor and outdoor tracks with rubber tyres. For foam tyres on carpet I also prefer a spool/diff for a one-way, this is mostly because a one-way will give you too much steering! Jilles Groskamp |
