Anybody have a problem with stripping out the bottom silver chassis screws? I use my 2mm green integy wrench and It seems to strip the screws alot. What wrench is good for these screws?

you can try anti size. Or buy stainless screws. I use the same driver and once in a while have the same problem. You can also try not over tighten those screws

I went through three new 2mm integy tips until I finally replaced them with a 2mm Hudy tip. It has yet to round off its own edges or strip any of my new chassis screws. Its the only tip I've had to replace in my Integy set though. If you need a new set I'd highly recommend the Hudy plastic handle drivers as they are fairly inexpensive, but come with the same tips as the more expensive ones.

DO NOT USE lock tight on the chassis screws!!!

I did the same thing and it isn't needed, but forces you to use more torque on the screw head and strip it quicker.

Contrary to popular belief, I've found that I only need to use lock tight on the wheel screws if I'm running 19 turn or mod motors. And I only put on a very very small dab at that. If you use too much, you will have a hard time screwing them in when using the setup thingamajigs. You shouldn't need lock tight on any other screws.

Hi

I've found that the best driver for these screws when they have been used for some time and a 2mm drver is a bit loose is the Hudy 0.078 inch driver. It is fractionally bigger than the 2mm driver and gets tight screws out every time.

Hope this helps

James

One of the tips i have picked up is to seal all the taper holes in the chassis with super glue like you seal the edges of the chassis to stop it delaminating. I use a cotton bud with thin CA. Not (yet) had a problem with screws sticking!!!
