Post subject: | Multi-diff locked one way.. |
Picked up a multi-diff today, and assembled it as a locked one-way. Perhaps I assembled it incorrectly... there is enough play in the outdrives that they can slide out past the center shaft piece while running turning the diff into a standard one way. Did I assemble it wrong? Or is there a piece of instruction missing? Such as insert something between the dogbone and the outdrive such as an o-ring or foam? Thanks |

Did you add the spacer ??? shown below one on each side |

Yes on both sides. With those spacers there is still enough room for the outdrives to slide out abit, and off the end of the shaft inside. |

I haven't had that problem, I have ran mine as the 'spool' so the pin is preventing it from moving. Maybe someone else could comment so we can understand the problem |

Yes!!!! At last someone else has noticed this problem. I had noticed it the first time I ran the car with this 'coupled one-way' and haven't used it since as it changes during the race. I have been trying to coime up with a fix for this problem but I can't seem to come up with anything that will hold the outdrives in the multi-diff. Anyone else? Sam |

I had that problem at first too. I just took a couple of rubber "O" rings and put them in the outdrive shaft to keep it from sliding as much. Seems to work fine now. |

Mario how can the play be ok if the diff changes from a locked one-way to a standard one-way while the car is running? Each time I take the car off the track I have to push the outdrives in to lock the one-way. I also am considering the o-rings or some small pieces of foam in the outdrives to keep them pushed further into the one-way unit. I just wondered if I had put it together wrong. |

Ahh...I missunderstood your original post. So your problem is that the connecting joint (the hollow piece that connects both outdrives into a solid one-way) will fall out? |
