That setup sounds good Im not too sure about the kick up but thats my personal preference. You might want to think about changing the rear camber to 2 degrees and maybe more toe in on the rear, like 2.5 or 3 if the grip is low also yellow rear spings as well when i went it was a slightly damp track and it rained for the finals, so not much grip. Try it like you said and if you need more rear end try the things above report back to say how you did and how the car felt chipmunk |

cheers chipmunk, my only real concern with the set up (theres nothing really radical there is there!) is that previous times when running a spool I have lost SOOOoooo much front end it was a nightmare! It seemed that nothing I did got it back - tried the usual stuff for more off power steering i.e. Softer springs at front, more rear droop, reduced castor, rear roll bar etc ... but I am begining to come to the conclusion that getting steering back when running a spool kind of goes against what you would think ? I have read stuff like - "tightening up the rear diff" and I found that allowing more roll at the back (taking off the rollbar) made things better! RE the kick up - I am right aren't I that kick up will aid off power turn in by allowing more weight to transfer to the front - where as anti-dive (-ve kick up) has the opposite affect. I guess the danger is though that the increase in castor reduces the desired effect. I will let you know how I get on though. |

Just an idea: I was suffering off power steering at corner entry. After long thoughts and discussions we (a FK04 and a few FK05 drivers) put stiffer springs in the front and ended with MORE steering. We're talking here about a fast medium grip asphalt track. Just a quick round-up Springs: blue / yellow short camber links rc: high / low ride height: 5,5 / 5,75 downstop: 1 / 1 camber 1,5 / 1,5 Rest approx. the same as you got. I was astonished, but it worked. Jilles and Tony drove the same setup at our track ![]() |
