Just got a T1R - it has low ratio pulleys, hollow alum layshaft, Novak SS5800 BL system. I race outdoors on parking lot track. Running 96/22 spur/pinion setup (gives me 7.72 FDR). Novak recommends keeping final drive ratio between 7.30 to 7.80 - but closer to 7.80 so ESC does not overheat. Rear belt seems to be touching motor can - just barely. But I cannot go to smaller Spur/pinion or it will really rub. From my search 96T in 48 Pitch spurs is as large as anyone makes. I can go to 96/23 and it likely wont touch can - but then I am at the limit of 7.39 final drive ratio and may overheat the ESC. What can I do so belt does not touch motor can? What does everyone with a T1R do??? Go to 64 Pitch Spur and Pinion? HELP!!! |

It's not uncommon for the belt to touch the can - it's not a problem ![]() |

Thanks Dave - that's a relief. I've got several 48P spurs and pinions and would like to use them. |
