Hi,

Could someone explain the main effects from widening and narrowing the front and rear track width?

from what i can make out,narrow front more turn in,more responsive,rolls on its nose more,
wider front more stable less steering less responsive,
wider rear more grip and stability,
and ive never made a cars rear more narrow so cant help there

Thanks, very useful as I know a lot of people are experimenting with this on the new car.

The new car is 2mm wider on the front than the old t4 and 1mm narrower on the rear.

If you make the track width wider don't forget that you may end up hitting more track markings as your car takes up "more space" on the track, whereas the narrower the car the less things you hit. At least that is my understanding.

Wider front:
A wider front end will increase off power steering especially in low speed. On-power steering is increased as well. The car will have more lateral grip at the front.

Narrower front:
The car will turn smoother both on and off power. The initial steering is reduced. The car will feel more responsive however.

Wider rear:
The car will turn smoother both on and off power. The car will have less rotation. The rear tires are less likely to overheat since it won’t slide as much.

Narrower rear:
The car will rotate more; it will finish the corner better. On-power steering is increased. The rear tires are more likely to overheat as a result.
