Hi,

What's the best cleaning product to use on tyres which doesn't dry the rubber out.

I've been using Wurth brake cleaner although I hear some people use WD40 or lighter fluid and some even clean the tyres with additive to keep the rubber soft, any thoughts??

On carpet, using some of the additive to clean the tyres seems to work well.

I tend to use lighter fluid when outdoors

Using break cleaner. Tried wd40, it does not dry out the tire but rather softens it up. Once left a tire in wd 40 and it melted...

Don't know it there is any effect really tho.

When using break cleaner I clean just before I put the additive. When using wd40 i clean directly after the run to let the tire get sticky.

Talking medium to low grip Asfalt.

Ive heard a few people coat the tyres in wd40 then seal them in a bag for a few days to soften the rubber.

I always apply the brake cleaner then follow straight on with the additive so not sure how much this can dry it out really.

when i have finished racing for the day i clean mine with brake cleaner then coat them with additive and then wrap them in cling film ready for the next weekends racing,the additive can then soak into the tyre without drying them out,take them out the box and onto the car and warmers for 20 mins,take off the cling film and wipe them clean and then back on the warmers till its time to race
