Post subject: | Xray T4 rear toe |
Hi I have just bought a T4, I need help with setting the rear toe, the book says the car has 0.75mm offset at the rear and if you then add a 0.75mm shim you get 3 degree's of toe in, however with that setup on my hudy setup station it only measures 2 degree's of toe in, if I add another 075mm shim it then goes to 3 degree's, am I doing something wrong, I have set the car up using the basic asphalt setup, can some please help. |

The pivot blocks at the front of the rear wishbones are in further on the chassis (by 0.75mm), by adding a 0.75mm shim to the rear/rear pivot blocks, that should give you 3deg rear toe. If you have no shims on the rear/rear pivot blocks and no shims on the rear/front you get 2deg. |

Hi thanks for the reply, yes that's what the book says but if you put it on a hudy setup station with 1 x 0.75mm shim it says 2 degrees of toe in and not 3 degree's? |

Yes its even on both side, I have built the kit from new and followed the instruction by putting a 0.75mm shim on the rear pivot blocks and the setup station then measures 2 degree's of toein on each side, I have doubled check all the parts the rear uprights are standard and state '0' on them so they are 0 degree, so what I did was added another 0.75mm shim and each side so now have 2 x 0.75mm shims per side and the setup station now says 3 degree's on both sides. And on the default setup its says 1 x 0.75mm shim on the rear gives you 3 degree's, maybe they mean adding one more shim to the standard build of the T4 which already has a 0.75mm shim. |

I agree it is strange, as I have 3 other onroad kits and they all are 3 degree's toe at the back and I use the same setup station on them. |
