I have just bought a T4 and I am looking for some set up advice. The club I am in runs on a wooden floor (Gymnasium) they do have an outdoor meeting and a few carpet meetings through out the year. I can find lots of set up info for carpet and asphalt but nothing for wood floors. It is a low traction surface any help would be appreciated

I am sure some of our UK XRAY drivers are willing to help you out! Why don't you contact Skiddins?

I'm afraid I have never run any RC car on a wooden floor.

Only thing I can thinks of are soft springs and low roll centres to make the car roll as much as possible.
Thin top deck and the new layshaft mounts with all the top screws removed.

I've also never raced on wood, but I guess grip will be a bit like wet/cold/frosty tarmac in the middle of January!

So I'd be looking at:
- Soft springs (try 2.3 or 2.3-2.6 progressive)
- Thin shock oil (maybe 300-350cst)
- Thinner (or no) roll-bars
- Lots of chassis flex. Start by removing some top-deck screws.
- Plenty of rear toe-in. Start with the kit 3deg and maybe go up to 3.5
- Nice stable bodyshell like the Speed6

many many moons ago, i use to race on a track of half carpet and half wooden gym floor, we would use carpet dragons tyres if there was more track layout on the wood and t27's if there was more carpet. I also remember wd40 on the tyres worked very well.

as for set up i would the car as kit but with 2.5 front springs and 5mm front droop and 4mm rear to start.

shakey529, where is the track?
