Make sure you do do the edges of the tape slots that the tape will touch, as explained to me stops the harsh edge cutting the tape ! Else its up to you, i Have done the topside of battery slots (lower cg) so far as i race indoors and am not too worried about delamination... |

nvisible I prepped my chassis a la CRC site - it was specifically the battery slots I was questioning. Thanks for the info tho! |

Hi, before I prep the chassis per the external website link per above, can someone please post a quick and clearer photo of their chassis, so I know what it should look like. Is there any further detail by X-ray anywhere on best approach here? |

On the chassis prep step, it says to apply only a bit of CA glue on the countersunk holes. The instructions highlight red the whole edge of the chassis, but only 3 of the many countersunk holes. Is it correct to apply CA to ALL the countersunk holes on the chassis. |

Although one is the chassis while the other is the shock tower hopefully you can see the difference; |

I don't spend more time than necessary on this step. Of course you can always make your carbon parts look nicer. But personally I don't have the patience. Usually I round off the edges with sandpaper or a fine file. Then I spray the edges with CA kicker, before applying the CA, and let it run around the parts to give it a shiny CA finish. It does not look as nice as when you polish the parts and use CA in two steps or more, but at least its functional. Oh, and don't forget to add a drop of CA to the front countersunk holes in the chassis. |
