Any suggestions for large asphalt track, open esc, both 48 and 64 pitch. Thanks. |

I run boosted 10,5T at a very large fast outdoor track, all people at my track have found that around 8.0-8.5 FDR is the way to go. It is also important what ESC you will use, some speed controls prefer mechanical power via lower FDR (LRP/NOSRAM, from my experience) while others (Hobbywing, again from my experience) prefer more boost with a higher FDR. Note the temperature, it can be very high with this racing, if allowed by rules you will probably need a heatsink with 2 fans. With Nosram Pearl Spec I have 19-20T/84T, while with Hobbywing Xerun I used 18-19T/84T (with more boost, this resulted in less heat with pretty much the same result) |

Try an FDR of 6.5:1 as a starting point! |

I run my 10.5 Nosram at around 8.5 with Tekin Pro esc. Nosram motor timing I set to the 3 dot adjuster. Boost is 40-45 and Turbo between 8-12. Lots of people love to pile on the timing but if you back it off you will normally go faster in my experience with my kit. You can go the other way with X12, ie raise the FDR to say low 7 and drop timing for more torque but I prefer the sound of the lower FDR ![]() |
