Hello, I have (had) a problem with adjusting rebound on shocks on my T4. When I adjusted rebound, air somehow got inside of shocks and they started squeaking. Then I searched on the xray forum little bit, and stumbled upon a post that shock membranes can swell and increase their size over time. ![]() So I compared old and new membranes and found that used ones were little bigger (see picture) swelled, and much softer. I've changed membranes and adjusting rebound was child easy. ![]() So If anybody has same truble.....check your membranes and compare them to new ones. Maybe it's the oil you're using? |

Yes, they will swell after some time. This is normal when they come in contact with silicone oil. You have to compensate for this when building the shocks, by pushing out the excess oil from the shock, by pushing on top of the membrane, using a screwdriver or something similar, if you are aiming to use a small amount of rebound. |

Hi. How often do you have to chage shock membranes, because I am having trouble setting rebound? |

I was using these shock with the same oil and membranes for whole season. But if I would disassemble the shocks sooner I would probably have problem re-setting rebound. |

You don't get the swelling if you use Xray oil |
