has anyone a really strange set-up for my fk'05 for a bumby and very very very little grip asphalt track using cs27 takeoff tyres?
what are the main things to do from the start? softer or harder springs?softer or strong oil? downstops? etc....... i would like to try the most extreme and strange set-up to make the car good, because the track is really bumby and has not enough grip
thanks to everyone will not avoid my post :-)

I will say keep the dampening soft and run good amounts of droop, you want to keep contact patch all the time, is your track layed out in a car park ?

Try opting for a soft and unstable setup as the grip if it really is low will balance this out.

With low grip i think a higher roll center, but i would be inclined to not play around so much with that. Do not set it low however. 5.5mm or even 6mm on chassis lower the end you desire more grip by .5mm as a starting point...

This is complete guess work btw, as i can't see where or what its actually like. Just general things to try.

What inserts are you running in the CS27's?

I would suggest running a higher ride height too. Between 5.5 and 6mm like Col suggests is ok but you could even go for 6-6.5. On the springs go for yellow in the rear and white or maybe light blue front. I also agree with Col on the downstops. Run a lot of droop (little downstop). Maybe -1 front and 3 rear or 0-4, something like that.

Contrary to Col I would suggest slightly more damping than normal to dampen the bumps. Say 2 holes open instead of 3 with 30 oil or 35 oil with 3 holes.

To cope with the low grip run lower roll centers! In this case you can opt to run the lower arms in the lowest position front a rear OR run them with 1.5 degree kick-up (front) and anti-squat (rear) using the lowest holes possible. The kick-up and anti-squat will allow the car to negotiate the bumps better but may cause an imbalance in the car (you´ll have to try and find out).

Also try leaning the shocks in more at the top and at the rear use the inner hole on the rear arms.

Thanks tony :) Some sanity!

I was thinking very bumpy ? light blue spring rate would seem ideal in my mind ... (doesn't count much)

I suggest light dampening to help absorb the bumps a bit and react to the droop setting quickly and keep contact with the ground. Would make it a bit unstable, but with the low grip thought that would be ok, I am thinking pippo needs to try :)
