Hi,Martin. I'm very new to Xray. I'm just finishing my Xray T4 build. The asphalt track I was racing with the straight length 180fts. And each corner got a straight length about 30 to 40 fts to each corner. My T4 machine was using Tekin RS Pro and run with timing & turbo boost. Motor using is Fantom 10.5t. I thought of changing the gear pitch to 64p cos 48p is too noisy. What FDR setting is best for this track? What spur & pinion match do u suggest? Thanks. |

Hi Patrick, I am not an expert in stock class and I never use Fantom motor but I would suggest to use 114 spur gear with 27 or 28 pinion. To make sure that you will not break the electronics, check the temperature after 3 minutes of run. The temperature after 3 minutes of run should not exceed 80°C |

Hi Patrick, I also run 10,5T boosted with a T3 '12. I have a Nosram PearlSpec (v1) ESC and a Nosram 10,5T motor. I run it with a stock 84T spur and mostly a 19T pinion, with +/-1 depending on track conditions. This gives a FDR of 8.40, sometimes with 7.98 and 8.87. The temperature varies around 90 deg C, with 2 fans and a heatsink. This ratio works very well and all others drivers in our championship run FDR similar to this one. |

Hi,friends. You can watch my racing track in YouTube-MNC EP 2012 GALATICOS ARENA IPOH.MOV. What is the best gearing &FDR setting do u suggests? Running 10.5t motor with timing & turbo boost. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Skiddens, not necessarily. I run my Tekin and Nosram 10.5 at around 9 FDR at Aldershot, as does Kieran. Now I am not familiar with the above Nosram ESC; if it is old generation with 8 (or so) programs then I would agree the FDR does seem awfully low. |

.... of course motor and driving style will have a significant impact on choice |

I never ran 7.0 because honestly, since I started racing this class the fast guys (amongst them a current EFRA 1:6 European champion) told me what they run, and it's all between 8.0-9.0. I will try with what you suggest, nothing can be lost ![]() |

hi guys, we are using 4.0 FDR on 13.5t Pro stock racing and around 7.8-9.0 on modified racing with 4.5t motor. |
