Post subject: | Drive shafts for Xray Gear Diff. |
I have just installed a new xray gear diff in my 011T3. I used to have a Spec R gear diff in it and with that diff it was needed to use the 50mm drive shafts. My question is, am I better off using the 50mm or 52mm driveshafts in the Xray gear diff? Ive used the shorter 50mm drive shafts in the front with a spool and they have a tendency to break outdrives because they are a fraction too short. Is it the same with the rear? Am I better off using the 52mm driveshafts? I'm thinking yes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers |

The rear's don't have as much load on them as the fronts so you can use either |

I wouldn't use 50 mm in the rear, because in theory 52 mm gives a more stable ear end. So the best combination in my opinion is 52 mm in the rear which gives a stable car in the back and 50 mm in the front which gives a more aggressive car in the front. Note that this varies from different driving styles and personal preferences- if I remember correctly Hagberg uses 52 mm in the front and 50 mm in the rear ![]() |
