Post subject:  Steering block and caster block broken

One month ago more o les, I broke my right steering block and caster block. I change for a new parts steering block and caster block, but these are of the T3'11 car, I saw that is a little different. I think that these parts are different from the t3'12 (my car), and when I apply throttle the car go to one side (I don't remember if is left or right).

I think that these parts (steering block and caster block) are different from the t3'11 to the t3'12 and that is the reason of the performance of the car. Or really are equially and the problem is other?

Thank you, regards.

Original Steering Block by 2011 is Medium and by the 2012 they are hard.
But this is not the Problem. You have damaged Ball Bearings inside your car.
I had the same Problem. After a hard crash one Bearing was damaged and by the Start in the Race my car goes to the right side.
I changed bearings and the car drives straight.

Thank you Chrisi I have to check my bearings.
If you can see the form of the steering block are differents, maybe geometry different, I don't know...

I did not know that the T3'12 has the hard steering blocks, better :-)

Regards.

With the hard steering blocks you have lesssteering angle. You can find the hard blocks in the old Xray Models.
Then Xray take the medium blocks and now they take again the hard blocks.
I take always hard blocks, because after many car service the holes from tge medium block are to big and the screw doesen`t hold

Pulling to one side on throttle can also be a sign of "tweak" - where the chassis is twisted. Check this by check (and re-set if necessary) the ride height and down-stops equally left/right and then lift the front with a thin screwdriver at the centre of the shock tower while looking at which wheel lifts off the ground first. They should leave the ground simultaneously. Repeat for the rear.

Alternative methods include a "tweak station" or 4 small electronic scales to measure the corner weights (which is how I do it).

If the chassis is tweaked, then firstly check that the anti-roll bars (ARB's) are flat (they can get twisted in a bad crash), while disconnected, loosen off all the top deck screws and give the car a "shake" to settle it, put it back on a flat surface and retighten the top deck screws, tightening across diagonals as you do it. [The setup book is also a good guide]. When you reconnect the ARB's, disconnect the springs and check that the left and right wishbones rise the same amount when lifting the other side.
