Post subject: | Braking in to corner |
Hello. I have a question about driving styles. Please forgive my poor english. I use break to enter a corner late then hit the throttle to power thru and exit. I've seen some other driver roll in to a corner. Which one is better? Hagberg said its point to point is the fastest, so he brakes a lot. I try to follow it. I make all braking done in the straight before the turn in and gradually adding throttle from corner entry to apex and hard acceleration from apex to corner exit. Is it a correct skill? I try to use trailbraking technic (braking/turn in at a same time) but it seems not work for me. Please give me advise on improve driving skill. Thanks |

I don't like to use too much autobrake with stock motors. Depend of the track conditions and motor uses. On the real cars races, they have 5, 6 or 7 gears, and when their car brakes, the driver down to the correct gear (exactly to the speed than the car can go across the corner). In radio control touring electric, We haven't gears, by that reason we have to brake to the exactly speed that your car can go across the corner. That is my opinion ![]() |

On some nitro tracks braking into certain corners is faster also with a spool in the front. On typical electric track layouts I don't brake into corners normally. Also I neither use autobrake nor autothrottle. |
