Hi, Could someone explain the spacing of shocks, i know what happens with the car if you add spacers to the top of the front shocks but what happens if you space the top and bottom of the shock equally? Also what happens when you space the rear shocks out, ie spacers at top or again adding spacers top and bottom equally? |

Hi Matt, Grabbed this out of the manual - Covers moving the entire shock (top and bottom with spacers) "To make the car more stable and easier to drive, move the front shocks forward. Stability increases mainly in chicanes. Note that the car will have less steering into corners." Same handling characteristics will happen if you move the rear shocks backwards. Moving the top only will, I guess, half the effect as well as straighten the shock up. Adding up to 2mm at the top of the shock wont necassarily require a spacer at the bottom but if you add 3mm then you'll need to add a minimum of 1mm to the bottom. This gives quite a bit of adjustability to suit your requirements. Cheers Andrew |

When you space the shocks out equally both on the top and bottom, this somehow makes more cornerspeed, which ist noticeable especially in highspeed corners. The car will stop less. Actually I think the shimming will take away a bit of traction from that end of the car. In the front I use 4mm shims from the top mounting and 2 at the bottom to have the shock mounted in a vertical line. In the rear I use 2mm at the top and bottom. |

hi alex i run xray t3 2012 and having probs with it on indoor carpet just not has fast has my last t3 2010 must be down to set up do you think spacing front and rear shocks as you say in your last post will help ? thanks chris |
