Taking into account the following: 1. taking the TITC (like the 008) 2. Winning Snowbirds 3. Winning a round of the ETS Do you think that the Hudy boys have made their best car relative to time since the 008? I only say this because in previous lead ups to the ISTC's Xray have always come up a teeny bit short, but things like the: a. 2mm flexi chassis b 1.6 top deck c the best gear diff by a country mile d new top links e stiff arms they have pushed the car and just honed it to the best it can possibly be - might not be quite so easy to drive or as club friendly as some of the previous cars, but is just so 'darty' and fasst in the right hands. All my fellow Xray mates seem to agree that this is the best xray relative to time. Whaat do you all think and why? |

Put simply, I'm quicker with the '12 than any other car. But I have gotten progressively quicker with each car I have ever owned. |

hello, i agree, the 12 seems a very easy car to drive, also very fast at our track. the 11 i have never got a good feeling with, from the first round i was driving. i have only driven the car like 4 or 5 days, i have a shop, so that meens like 3 or 4 months ![]() i have tryed to get the car straigten out with top drivers, but the problem stayed, when you tried to push the car, the rear did not follow, it was always loose. the first round with the 12 was like heaven, it run perfectly, straight out of the box you could even push the car to limits. with the 2010 i had about the same feeling, but with the 12 it was even stronger ! i think it is the best car since ... the best i have owned ![]() you can see it by the results, it used to be top 10 drivers, now its podium drivers ! alex is a very talented driver, but the car has given him the chance to get even beter ! great job alex! thankx team xray ! best regards, lovan rc-shop belgium |

The T3'2012 is probably the best XRAY car I have driven. Just as stated above, it is a result of many minor tweaks which was made from the old 2011 platform. All these small changes contributes to the overall change in handling which makes it as good as it is. One of the main differences is probably the optional 2mm chassis which seems to be a big improvement for most conditions, both on carpet and asphalt surfaces. I think the gear diff is perfect, very smooth and efficient compared to those of the competition. The rollcenter has been optimized, and the steering geometry is just right. |

Alex, have you always run the thinner 1.6mm top deck with the 2mm chassis? I don;t yet have the 1.6mm top deck but do have the chassis. Do you think that on medium grip asphalt the 2.0mm chassis with standard top deck would still be an improvement? Skiddins |

2mm chassis was the biggest improvement i've seen on my T3'12. Ive tried the 2mm and 1.6mm top deck back to back, and I found that it gave a little more grip but if I clipped anything it allowed the front belt to pop off. Sticking with the 2mm top deck. Just wish parts where available quicker where I am. |

I think that 2mm chassis is good on low and high grip tracks. On low, because it provides more traction, on high, because it flex more and does not traction roll that easy However it also depends on tires and driving style. For example, for LRP tires I prefer 2.5mm chassis and for high traction tires like Ride, I prefer 2mm chassis 1.6 top deck provides more steering but also it makes the car stop more in the corner. So, if the traction is high and car tends to stop and over steer, than 2mm top deck is better |

So as I understand it, to be really competitive I have to buy me the 2.0mm chassis and the 1.6mm topdeck. Why aren't these in the kit? |

No, not necessarily. It is better for some conditions and tires, but not all. For example, I did win the Snowbird Nationals with the standard 2.5mm chassis. That was high traction carpet with Jaco tires and there, the standard seemed better. |

Alex, you say, it all depends on trakction and type of rubber. Tell me, what a difference tires and how it affects the type of tires on the chassis of choice? |

Butuzov, if experience with the 2mm chassis has shown anything, its that there are no clear and cut rules defining when and when not to use the 2mm chassis. Its something you'll need to experiement with, just like shocks, springs, oils, tyres, etc, etc. Everyone drives differently so what one person likes at a track, another might hate. Cheers Andrew |
