Post subject: | Spec-r upgrades (diff & C.V. shafts) don't fit the |
Hello! I'm new to XRAY, having bought a used T3R a few weeks ago. I ordered a couple of upgrades, namely gear differential and CV driveshafts from Spec-R, but I have troubles fitting them into the car: The diff: when I measured it, it is wider than the ball diff originally on the car. By wider I mean the "notches" in the output shafts are not deep enough and I can't assble the diff with the drive shafts in it (it won't go). I guess I should have used a special shorter variant of the driveshats? Does anyone have experience with that? The CV driveshafts from Spec-R also don't fit the car. I actually can't mount the C-hub, because the part of the driveshaft is touching the C-hub and preventing it to moving into its place so that it could be mounted. I bought the spec-r stuff especially for XRAY T3 (I was told this is compatible with T3R), so I am wondering with might have gone wrong? Is T3R not compatible, or did I order the wrong Spec-R parts? Thanks, Miha. |

For a perfect fit the spec-r diff should be used with the 50mm driveshafts. You can make the original 52mm ones fit by cutting the blades a bit and adding the 0,4mm shim. Just to mention it, the xray geardiff is much better then the spec-r one ![]() Don't know about the spec-r driveshafts, but i do think the T3 has a different c-hub from the T3R. That said, the c-hub's from the T3 will be a direct fit for your car. |

Cut tha back side of the blade (aka plastic cap, part: 305241) to allow the driveshaft to go as far in to the outdrive as posible. Then add a 0.4mm shim to the lower suspension block, I added the shim all the way around the car to keep everything equal. |

Don't remember how wide it was doing it like this, but we have the 190mm limit here also and it was never a issue. |
