Hello,

it would be interesting if anybody runs the alu drive shafts in front.
Since the cost half as much as the steel ones I am thinking about getting them for front multi-diff.
I run 17,5T with power programm on carpet and 6,5T on asphalt.

Do they survice in front or do I have to take the steel ones?
Any experience would be helpful.

Best regards,

Cypher

Personally I run ECS driveshafts in the front of my T2'009.

I would never even consider aluminium drive shafts in the front of my XRAY as they would break much more easily than the steel ones (I've had one break in the rear). The steel driveshafts might bend, but it takes a pretty big impact to damage them.

I once had a HPI Pro4 which had alloy driveshafts all round. I kept bending the front ones (as well as stripping the gear on the front one-way) from riding up over the track barriers (which was half PVC pipe). Based on that I'd never use alloy driveshafts in the front, especially when there's no give in the transmission.

They didn't work on the T3 and T3'11 because the maximum angle the alu driveshafts allow is smaller than what the steering block allowed.
I am not sure about the new steering block. I would not use them for the front.
