I'd like to start a discussion on camber link length.
I've just moved from a '007 chassis to a '10 and the '10 has the L1/L2 quick centre adjusters. These make for a much, much longer camber link than what was possible on my old '007. I run on a medium grip carpet track with lots of hair pin turns. What are everyone's thoughts on these long links on such a track? I get the feeling that I might be giving up some mid corner grip (the back end does move around a bit and steering is moderately good) with these long links. I'm using MuchMore Absolute 28s, which have a lot more air gap than Jaco blues. More or less camber gain for larger air gap tires?
However I have noticed that all the new chassis keep getting longer camber links, so maybe this is a superior solution for all conditions?
Next race for me is on friday, so I'll do some more testing then and report back.
Also, does anyone use anything other than the standard (long+high position) with these L1 mounts? It seems like all the other mounting positions are very extreme. The roll centre is super high in the lower mounting and super short in the inner mounting.
