Post subject: | T3 belt tensioner or not |
Hello, I'm just wondering if it would be better to use a belt tensioner instead of tension the belt by moving the axle. What would you suggest? Thanks, Stefan |

Hi Stefan, I have always used the inbuilt XRAY function without any problem - which is not to say the belt tensioner is not useful - I assume by its design it is dynamic rather than fixed, but I am not sure I understand what advantage that might bring. Just never flet inclined to spend the money ![]() |

Thanks Yellowshark, I think I will try a belt tensioner as my belt sometimes runs right on the spool but inverted on the pulley ... always thought my ball differential was slipping (probably it was with all that heavy RWD) until there was that certain "taste of rubber" ![]() I think the difference is that you change the center of the rotating mass when tensioning the belt by moving the axle. Not sure whether I would notice that on track or not ![]() |

Yes, indeed a new set of belts is needed now. But it's about time anyway. Ok ... I'll tension it by moving the axle if needed. Thanks. |
