Hello, I need your help with balancing Rear and Front. I have balanced car with HUDY tool right/left. I'm using lipo. Track: carpet, Tyre Sorex 28r. X12 17.5t What is the recommended balance Front and Rear. I have measured my car with scales 63% Rear and 37% Front. Rear has more weight. Is it OK? Thank you. |

if you are racing in stock classes its bettrr to put more weight on rear because stock motors doesnt have so much power to tranfer all the weight to rear if you have more weight on rear you have more grip on rear |

I'm quite surprised at how big your front to rear differences are - my T3'11 (5000mAh SMC Lipo/13.5T GM/Tekin speedo/Futaba servo) is pretty much 50:50 front to rear (i.e. 310g - 320g on each wheel without the bodyshell) I have approx 15g weight on the front RH and 5g on rear RH corners to make it up to the 1350g limit (with the bodyshell - approx 100g) How are you measuring this? (I use 4 x scales, one under each wheel, on a leveled surface to check the corner weights) Hope this helps |

Hi, Thank you for help. I also used 4 scales. My car weight with lipo was 1293g. I added weights on rear corners. I will try some of the weigts add from rear to front. |

No worries! : I always aim to get even corner weights on all 4 wheels, within 10g (i.e. 50:50 front to rear and left to right) If you are using scales, make sure that the surface they sit on is flat and level. It is common to get diagonally opposite weights high or low = tweak. To sort this out, I start by loosening off the top deck screws with the car on a flat surface and re-tighten carefully, set the nominal ride height with the gauge and then even out the corner weights using the spring mounts - tighten one side and loosen the other the same amount so the nominal ride height is unchanged. As I understand it, rear-heavy gives faster initial turn-in, but is prone to exit understeer, front-heavy gives the opposite - slower turn-in and exit oversteer. HTH |
