hi, i've been away from rc for 6-7yrs, thinking of making a comeback last touring car was an xray t1, adored it! had yokomo previously, and the build quality and strength of xray were on another level entirely (as i'm sur you're all aware!) so, i jumped straight on to the xray site, see the t3'11, do a bit of research and reading, only to find a few things i might not like! so i have some questions, and may need some convincing from you guys! 1, what happened to the pillow-balls!? for adjusting rear toe-in and front negative camber? i loved those!!! i never managed to break one, or saw one break, in a couple of years racing. i wondered if having the steering pivoting on the same surfaces as the suspension had bad effects? 2, i seem to remember the hex drives for the wheels being cast/machined in to the drive cups? why has this not been continued? surely it made them stronger, did it make them too heavy? 3, (very minor point, this one) not sure i like the orange! think i'm fairly decided on the t3'11 anyway, but some comments from you would be appreciated thanks in advance, frst |

Started with a T1R, went to T2, T2,008 then T2'009. have not yet made the move to a T3 - will be buying a 012 though 009 is as strong/well made as ever. Its handling is much superior to my T1R. I cannot recall the assembly of the hex drives and drive shafts except they were very different to the T2/T3 series. I have never had an issue with the current assembley. Make the move, you will not be disappointed - its fast too, I can attest to that given the speed of the 011s at our club. And you will find the worls of Lipos and brushless motors a bonus too ![]() |

Possibly a bit optimistic, depends on current draw. We get about 10 mins, maybe 12, with 5000 running a 10.5 on a tight track (tight = a 10.5 cannot outrun a 13.5 when NG speedos are used ![]() |
