Post subject: | Ball Diff Troubles |
Hey all, i've had a Ball Diff in my T3 11 for quite some time now. Up until recently it has been excellent, much better than the one in the MI4LP. But i've started hitting problems, where the diff feels tight. As to avoid slippage under power. Doing so, means that the rear diff is tight enough to rotate the motor. I've rebuilt with almost new diff plates and thrust bearings and thrust plates and with new Conical washers, and still suffer the same problems. I cant imagine it being the diff balls? As the diff is nice and smooth. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

One thing to try is a new Circlip - its very important for a smooth diff for a full rotation. Cant remember the Part no, but I think Xray sell a bag of Circlips. as they tend to warp overtime and make it feel like theres a tight spot, and cause all sorts of issues. Mine has just started to develop this behaviour after 6 months - so not bad going considering as the Mi4 one needed replacing every other month ![]() |

Many thanks for the advice guys, im using brushless with advanced timing. I've a spare diff that has very little use, but I made a mess of the balls. So I will steal the circlip out of that diff and give that a go. Cheers Browny |
