Hi,

I've recently purchased a used T2'008 from a friend.

The car is still running the standard 38/16 pulley set and I would love to get the replacement 34T/20T pulleys for it, to lower the internal ratio to the normal 1.7.


Where can I purchase all the parts needed to do this conversion?

If someone could list the parts numbers as well that would be great.

Hi , I am asking myself why do you want to go to 1.7 when 1.9 is probably a better choice (I said probably not absolutely!)

and you get to 1.9 by keeping your 38T pulleys and replacing the 16T with 20T.

Do not forget that when you change pulleys you will probably have to change at least one of the belts

I see from your other thread you are aiming for an FDR of 3.5. What wind engine are you running and what type of speedo do you have?

I am not familiar with the Excelorin. Is it an NG (new generation) speedo where you set timing etc via software or is it a 2nd gen ESC where you select a "mode" by pushing a button on the ESC?

I ask because for the same motor the FDR used normally differs significantly depending on whether you have 2nd gen or NG ESC. 3.5 sounds a bit high for 13.5 with NG. For example I use 7.2 with a 13.5 and NG ESC - but that is on a tight asphalt track with a short straight.

This is tricky stuff; there is no one right answer on this subject so probably best if you have a chat with some of your local drivers.

You have the right idea about gradually adding teeth to the pinion. As a beginner you will stress/load the motor more in the infield so you will probably find that you cannot use the same FDR as the experienced drivers without overheating the motor so starting 1 or 2 teeth lower will probably be a good idea.
