Hey all, I hope someone can help me with my current setup using Sorex 28JB's. Im finding the tyres are coming away from the plastic rim quite early on in the life of my tyres, particulaly the rear set as I'd have expected these to have lasted longer than they do. This is all happening way before the tyres start developing bands on the inside edges. I've got H links on the front with 1mm spacing between the shocks and the bulkhead, ive also got 2mm spacing ontop of the C hubs. I've also got the 1 hole 0 degree rear hubs installed using the stock L links, Im using the kit springs at the moment but i've also tried HPI Pinks and Silvers. Can anyone shed any light on the situation at all? |

it isn't this. Your problem is weak ca glue or simply sorex tryres should be glued few times. about 3 . I had same problems with sorex tyres. |

Yes, even if the tires come pre-glued, it's recommended to add some glue yourself. |

This has nothing to do with the car. In modified it is usual to reglue Sorex 28-tires every other run. It is usually not a problem of your CA-glue. Often the glue stays intact, while cracks in the rubber just beneath the gluejoint begin to grow. The longer you wait with reglueing, the deeper the cracks get, until the tire becomes completely lose. The problem gets worse if you use less camber. |

A few friends are running the T3 11 as kit setup albeit -1.5 degrees of camber and are not experiencing the same issues as me. One person has had a couple pairs of 28JB's fly apart two to three runs in, and thats only on a timed 13.5. I did a trial run of glueing the tyres from an early stage a few months ago, which still resulted in the tyre tearing, but from the edge of the glue instead. By the time i'd finished, i'd got a very large band of glue from the rim. How long do you guys usually get out of a set of 28JB's? |

Also not all rims are alike. The hard rims are a different type of plastic to the more flexy rim. Some brands of hard rims, the plastic can actually be slightly melted by the CA!! You can test that on a old(clean) rim, put a big blob of CA on it & see what happens. Ive had better luck gluing up the flexy rims. |

I don't have any experience with your particular tyre (we run other type control tyres), but sometimes the CA doesn't let go, but actually the tyre rubber is torn/split apart. Especially when running in high grip conditions - soft tyres on carpet! We often had to reglue the tyres because of that. Might be your case too? |
