Hi,

Yesterday evening I was racing at my club and I noticed the car had a lot of tun in understeer and also on the middle of corners, especially off throttle. The car seemed to really slow itself down the more lock I used on the handset. I checked the ecs driveshafts and thought i'd put a few drops of oil in them just to see if they had some sort of binding. It didnt work, so I checked the rest of the car and it wouldn't go away, even with lots of setup changes. To the point of running 1.4/1.4 roll bars and a 1.15 shim in the front trackwidth of the car. (2.8 front springs etc).

I got home, undone the wheel hexes and looked at the ecs'. They were free as anything. Perfect. I also checked the outdrives. They were perfect, and not binding. Then I rolled the car forwards with the transmitter and car switched on, with no drag brake setting on the esc. To my surprise the car when pushed by hand with the front wheels straight, was free and from around 1/3rd steering lock the car felt like it was binding and then upto full lock it was obviosuly binding. My question is, does anyone have any ideas where I go about looking where my problem lies with this binding problem, as its obvious this is the problem I have with the car having a lot of understeer and poor corner speed.

Many thanks!

It could be that you've tightened up the grub screws holding the ECS pins too tight.

I would take the front end apart one piece at a time and try to eliminate everything;

Are the wheels rubbing on something when turning
Bearing siezed
Driveshafts binding
Spool not aligned correctly

These are possibilities I would look at, but if the problem is that bad there will be something wrong, you just have to find it.
