Post subject:  camber links

can anyone help me on what happens to cars handling when adding and removing shims on top of the front c hub and rear upright for the camberlink height adjustment? i seem to get conflicting views from people. some say removing gives more grip and others say removing takes grip away, i know this changes roll centre but this is one part of cars setup im not sure on.

many thanks

When adding shims on the outside (on top of c-hub): will raise the roll center and thus give less camber gain as the chassis rolls. The car will have more on-power steering and less turn-in. The car will have less front traction.

When removing shims on the outside (on top of the c-hub): will lower the roll center and camber gain will decrease as chassis rolls. The car will push on entry but have more rotation mid corner. The car will have more front traction.

When adding shims on the outside (on top of the rear hub): camber gain increase as chassis rolls, which will result in a loss of rear traction on-power and thus more steering. Less chassis roll.

When removing shims on the outside (on top of the rear hub): will lower the roll center, camber gain decreases as chassis rolls. The car will have more rear traction especially on-power. More chassis roll.

Don't you mean increase camber gain (for adding shims on C-hub?)

Cheers Alex. Tried it today at rugracers, removed shims on top of front c hub and gave me some needed extra steering
