Post subject: | Help with Multi-Diff Install into T3 |
I just purchased a used 2010 T3 and I want to install a multi-diff in the front. Before the car arrived I researched and it appears that 50mm front axle shafts are required to work with the multi-diff. I bought a US Foam Edition car and it is supposed to come with 50mm shafts. However, mine has 52mm shafts. Here you can see it also needs a new drive shaft pin: Assuming I need the 50mm shafts, can I just buy part #305225 to replace my shafts? Or do I need to buy all new front axle assemblies for much more money? I will be installing a Multi-Diff part #305104. If anyone knows what else I may need to work with my car, please let me know! Thank you! Tommy |

Thank you, Calvin! That's very helpful. Looking at the T1/T2/T3 cross reference, it appears the 2011 T3 and the 2010 EU T3 share the same front inner driveshaft (305324) and the same outer front driveshaft (305341). Even the front control arms and hub carriers are the same. Assuming the chassis mounting holes for the control arms are similar, I don't see why a multi-diff wouldn't fit in a '10 T3 if it fits in a '11 T3. Am I missing anything? Tommy |

Well, I did just notice something. The '11 T3 multi-diff (305105) is somehow different from the '10 T3 multi-diff (305014). However, the diff for the '11 T3 lists my '10 EU as a direct replacement! So maybe this is the diff I need afterall? |

That's true, Calvin, but it appears the diff specific to the T3 (and T3R) will also work in the EU Spec T3 like mine. And I just received confirmation from XRAY product support! Thanks, Tommy |
