Hi Having previously run a TC3, I bought a FK at the end of last year - 1st opportunity to run it in practice was last weekend (weather!) and I was suitably impressed! Great car - deceptively quick (all over my mate's pro4) lovely to drive. Just a couple things I hope you can help with :- 1) The spool is making a clicking sound when I remove the motor and spin the wheels - I have had both axles out of the drive cups & both wheel/axle assemblies spin freely and silently, as does the spool when spun without the drive shafts in. Is this normal? 2) Can anybody point me in the right direction for some thin, high quality aftermarket spur gears (sorry xray) as the Kimbrough(?) kit ones are pretty noisy. Thanks for your time. |

Stock spur works great, it is most likely your pinions. What brand of pinions do you use? If they are Robinson Racing, then that's the issue. Purchase a couple Robinson Racing spurs and you'll be set. Thick or thin, it makes do difference. A thinner spur has the same resistance, because there is more pressure generated on the teeth. However, I know people have their preference. Check for dirt or debris in the axles, something is most likely caught in the drivetrain causing the clicking noise. Not sure what you mean by "spool" in the FK. Unless they changed the FK specs, or you picked up an aftermarket spool, the FK has a one-way. |
