Post subject: | adjustable pistons make shocks shorter? |
hi, i tried to search this argument with poor result. i have a t3 and i have this problem: with shocks installed i can't set downstops less than than 4mm on the front and 7mm on the rear. so if i want to setup, let's say 6 and 6. i cant't because the shocks seem too short to let the arm go down further!. could it be because i assembled shocks with adjustable pistons instead of fixed ones? am i missing something else? if this argument has been treated into a previous post, can anyone can anyone address me to it? thx. bye. |

Is it the 'adjustable' section is not fully extending? Push the piston halfway in, then rotate it slightly, now try extending the shock, does it get any longer? Try rotating it a few times and trying again. The problem with the adjustables is that they can get out of alignment which stops them from fully extending. They should be the same length when built correctly. |
