Post subject:  gearing question

I have a new T3r, and I absolutely love it. The car drives great, it is really smooth on and off the throttle. The only problem I have is that I can't seem to get any speed out of it. I have it set to be legal in my club races, but half of the guys still smoke me down the straights. I would say they are atleast five m.p.h. faster than I am. I have a 104 spur and a 44 pinion, both 64 pitch, in it now and it still comes off the track at almost 130 degrees. I feel like it should be way hotter than that. What spur and pinion should I run? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am still new with the whole touring car thing.

Most motors have the recommended ratios from a low fdr to a high fdr, if you are not sure what FDR stands for or how to work it out, then look at the hudy setup book that came with your T3 read about that and you will be able to see what ratios you will need.

The easiest way to figure it out is to ask the local guys what FDR they are running and which motors that way you will have a ball park number for your FDR 3 sizes to play with.
