i have run my xray t3 once after building it and the pins in the drive shaft keep coming out i had to replace one at the track side and now just checking the chassis and giving it a clean i have realised that both front drive pins have slid out of place. is there a way i can get them to stay in any longer apart from checking them after every 5 min run? |

Ok here goes ![]() 1, Take them apart 2, Clean the screw and the threads in the pin holder really really well 3, Grease every thing using the Hudy Antiwear grease bun dont get any in the threads of the screw 4, Add loctite to the screw (only the smallest amount) then tighten it all together , not too tight as this may bend the pin. If your using ECS Axles then cover in shrink wrap like this , it stops the dirt getting in and if a pin breaks it keeps it in place till the end of the race , saved me a couple of times ![]() ![]() |

personally, i clean everything then loctite the screw. Then apply the hudy black grease AFTER the loctite has dried for a few hours. It's easy to use a 50thou hex to get the grease into the slots, spin the shafts in your hands a few times and you will see the grease fully lubricates. Once i loctite the screw i never, ever undo it again (unless to fix a breakage). I always clean the driveshaft then apply hudy black grease without disassembly. |
