Post subject: | T3 carpet set up help please |
Hi all I run a T3 and I'm having trouble getting it to behave well on carpet. I have set the car up as per the XRAY T3 EU Carpet Rubber-Spec Basic Setup Sheet But it seems to be a bit tail happy off power and can get almost undrivable if you try and do a quick set of s bends. tyre wise I'm running jb 28's all round. Any links to carpet specific set up sheets would be great. I used to drive buggys so my driving style is a bit snatchy and I do throttle jam although I'm trying to learn not to. |

Hello, I had been having very similar problems. Basically the faster I was going, the more vicious it would spin out. Anyway, today my car was a bit nasty, and someone suggested I increased the rear droop. Did this and it was better. Added a it more, and reduced the front, and it is now pretty good. Ok, there are probably a lot more things to adjust, but this seeemed a very easy change that has a big effect on the handling. I guess having more droop allows more roll, and prevents the inside wheel from unloading. That keeps the tyre in contact, and prevents it from spinning out. Cheers David |

You can make the car easier to drive if you do the folowing things compared to the Basic Setup on carpet: use 50 or 100 cst harder oil in the front move the quick ackerman servosaver to the rear use 2mm shims under the steering link at the servosaver use the traction compund in the front only for very short time (max. 5 min) and in the rear for 20 min |

You just need to repackage it to manage the weight and the friction on the floor. The carpet is soft enough so you really need more weight. Anyway, you have to categorize the carpet to make it fine and hard. by: |
