XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi, I could really do with some tips for how to assemble these. I have part no. 303033 one pair of L1/L2; I also have 2 unused but old style 302663 5mm ball joints. I say old style because in the 009 manual they are shown with a moulded dot. I probably bought them when I ran the T2 or '008 Anyway, with a pair of pliers, try as I might, I just cannot get the ball stud and the ball joint eyelet lined up with enough purchase to force them together. Is there a particular way of doing this (the roll centre holders come pre-assembled with the kits) or is there a change in design between the old and new 302663s that is causing the problem?

Try screwing the L1/L2 onto s shock tower so they are more stable and then install them. they should work as that part no is included in the kit for those and The molded dot should face the shock tower. Its on page 17 of your manual.

Good idea B3, I will give that a try. To be clear, my ball joints do not have a moulded dot. One side around the eyelet is shiny and the other side is matte. Any idea if I should have the shiny side facing towards the shock tower, or the reverse?
