I am after a bit of set up advice please. I'm running a 009 with the 38t pulleys and ecs driveshafts i race on an technical indoor carpet track 24m x 12m my car is set up as per the carpet / rubber set up in the manual. I'm running a Tekin rs and a redline 13.5t motor and fdr 7.9. The problem i've got is if i set the Tekin up on conservative settings the car is on rails and handles really well. As soon as i add a bit of extra punch and some timing for speed the car is all over the place mainly corner exit on power the back end just lets go and the car oversteers really bad. The diff has been rebuilt and is set up fine and is very smooth, the shocks have been rebuilt and have no air in them. I completely stripped the car and replaced some slightly bent hinge pins and all bearings. It just can't handle the extra grunt from the lively settings any ideas where to start please as i'm fed up with MI4's with Speed passions out handling me :?

If your car is fine with less grunt and the problems only occur with corner exit, I would try harder rear springs and/or rear shocks more upright, also adding some front droop might help.

Will be interesting to see the opinions of some other people as well.

Thanks I'll give that a try. It handles superb with less power/grunt I've also tried new tyres to eliminate them everyone runs sorex 32s.

Increase front droop. Transfer some more weight to rear of car on power.
Whats the rest of your setup like?

You could try:

1) more front droop e.g. 5.5 or 5
2) Shorten Wheelbase
3) a lighter rear bar
4) tighten the rear diff
5) more rear toe-in
6) 6 degree caster blocks
7) give the car some pro-squat in the rear

Thats some things I'd start looking at.

There are a few who run 3.5, e.g. xform/index.php?act=view&ID=1468&setup=t3

Teemu ran 4degs for his ETS Budapest setup - xform/index.php?act=view&ID=1091&setup=t3

Its not that uncommon but worth considering when you've run out of ideas :)

Well after testing all the suggestions above the best improvement came by adding some rear pro squat. Thanks guys.:)
