Post subject: | Team Drivers in the UK |
Hello everyone I have just bought a T3 and think it's great, as usual the build quality is superb, although I'm starting to question my decision. There have been a lot of drivers leaving xray in the UK recently. Obviously Elliott Harper, but the other team drivers have left too. Is there anyone left now? Part of the reason I bought my T3 was because of the support from these forums and the trackside support. Last year the xray car was consistantly in the A final in the UK nationals and I regularly saw the names of Elliott, Phil Chambers and Jon Aird in the tech charts running xrays. I used a 009 last year and the whole team were very friendly and helpful. I have heard rumours that there isn't a team anymore. Have the drivers left because the car is bad? It is starting to put doubts in my mind. |

I understand what you mean Nigel, I race 10.5 myself. I was just a bit disappointed to hear that none of the front running mod guys will be representing xray. It's good to see an xray mixing it with the likes of Andy Moore, Chris Grainger, Olly Jefferies like we had last year with a few drivers. Despite what the xray and RC Disco guys might think, I think it has affected sales as well. Theres a few guys at my local club who don't really pay much attention to other meetings, and when they see the results it's only the mod results. This is because they think all the "top drivers" enter mod and mod seems to get more publicity even if only 30-40 drivers enter. Because every other car is in the A final, they have decided to try Mi4s, Associateds and Tamiyas. |

You may find some drivers coming back to Xray next year if there results with 'new hardware' don't pan out as expected in the nationals. What we do see each year is the same people in the national A Finals, its just the cars they drive which seem to change. Skiddins |
