Hello. I've been looking for advice on weight distribution and I am finding it very hard to find any. I am running 49.5% front / 50.5% back,. I am running on carpet with rubber tyres(sorex 28 mostly) and 10.5 motor. Is this about right and is it something you use to tune your car? What effects does moving the c of g forwards and backwards have? My car seems very good but it does seem to have a bit too much weight transfer to the front on faster parts of the track. I am running at Maritime Raceway in the UK and am using Elliot Harper's setup from the same track. I would be very grateful for any advice you could give me. |

Chris...
Hi Chris. I dont think anyone messes with much of that stuff, almost everyone uses steering and throttle expo but that is all. TC i use around 20%steering and 40% throttle (Mod). for 12th scale i use 30%steering and 30% throttle expo. it seems too simple but i only use expo, steering Epa and trim. im pretty sure that is the norm for the factory guys. Thanks.
Is that negative 20% and 30% or positive ? Thanks. |

Post subject: | Bearing Maintenance |
Hi Paul, Another Q, how many chemicals do top drivers use to clean the bearings? i was told apart from bearing oil, top drivers also use metal treatment and some teflon thingy. And at no point at all should any bearing be lube with wb40 as it will corrode the bearing. This will prolong the life of the bearings and more importantly will give significant edge during competition. I was told that well maintained bearings will even move when you blow the kit (without tyres and electronics) Just wondering whether it is true. |

HI Paul , thanks for the tips again I want to know more about damper rebound setting: 1) how much rebound normally use? 2) is less rebound (ex. 50%) get more mid. corner steering? 3) is more rebound (ex. 80%) get faster response entering corner? 4) is it possible set front and rear with different rebound? what is the effect? 5) if I felt rear traction is too much (very high traction indoor asphalt), felt under-steer, what damper rebound should be use? thank you very very much! |
