XRAY - Model racing cars

easier to set up?
more efficient?
more durable?

its not going to be easy to beat what we have now!!! mines faultless

I've had a couple ideas on what could be done to make the car even easier to work on...and more precise to adjust....and they've been submitted to Xray...

I can't see much to change from a performance standpoint though as the car already works so well.....

The only possible thing from a performance standpoint might be larger center pulleys to reduce the bend radius on the belts....making that change wil mean new belts though, which would be a shame, since the felt length and compatible belts have been the same since the original T1...keeping parts common throughout the line is one of the things that makes Xray unique...(as the new cars arrive, the older cars are still supported due to shared parts!)

Mark, I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I agree with you that the car at the mo' is very good but what if it could be better than it is now? What if Xray finds new ways to make the car more efficient, faster and more durable?

That's why there is so much R&D which will amount to the magic word in racing circles: innovation. This gives you the edge on the competition.

Nowadays is't not so much about fixing faults, it's making improvements on what you've already got.

Yes there is always room for improvement, if it's not performance it's durability or the ease of setup. It would be very hard to improve on the performance of the FK05 but it is possible, and knowing Xray if an 06 is released it will be better than the 05.

ho ho ho ..Mr V, looks like you still very talkative here Anyhow, the WC is coming, when can we expect so see something different? I guess the last two digits 05 does not fit the 2006 year, does it?

Yesterday, at my hobby shop in Germany, the vendor told me that the new FK06 will be out for Christmas.

I hope to see the new car in Lausanne in 2 weeks

If it is true I have to say well done to Xray for keeping it so secret,
I can understand that they would want to keep it secret (to stop a lot of repatative questions) but if its true they are planning a pre-Christmas release it would be handy to get an official word on it so we can start saving. I only just got my FK’05 anodised all black a couple of weeks ago as well
